April 2020, fordings INNOVATE sign deal with ASCRION Digital Events to head spear the sales on the Anglo American markets. Dr. Andreas Scriba a major investor of the ASCRION enterprise and expert in the fields of BIOTECH states that the market needs such a solution than never before. Conversations with leading Biotech companies have shown that the solution has a big hands up and need. Dr. Scriba goes on to say that COVID-19 has only sharpened the need for such a solution and has allowed us to accelerate our initiative to host the first matchmaking conference in June 2020. The ticket sales are already going strong with almost 70 major attendees within 1 week of ticket sales, despite many decision makers being in home office. Alone in Japan 14 big players in the pharmaceutic industry have aleady taken part. We asked Dr. Scriba, what the major advantages are with the ASCRION system. "The results are numerous, just putting aside the major question of carbon footprint left after such events, the online aspect allows key decision makers in management, development and production to get all decision makers into the same meeting being able to make on the spot decisions whether a cooperation with another company makes sense or not, and this at a fraction of the price than visiting a biotech conference. Normally such decisions can take weeks as companies can not afford to fly their process engineers and managers across to such events, leaving it up to sales and product managers to get the leads, discuss the feasibility with development and management, only to ascertain that the idea does not work, or there is not enough need. Such decisions can now be whittled down to 20 minutes and under. On top of this, the events are a fraction of the price of going to the live events, at 460 EUR a ticket for a large enterprise, this really is a bargain.
When asked whether this makes conferences redundant, Mr Scriba replied. "No not at all, let's face it, the best sales is personal and at the end of the day, that personal touch will always govern whether projects go ahead or not, however if such events are supported by a digital conference then it will allow individuals to streamline better whom they speak with.
This project fits in with the strategic positioning of fordings INNOVATE together with its projects in 3D scanning and hybrid events. Andrew Lawrence, founder of fordings adds, we see the future of teleconferencing for a whole matter of solutions, from tech partnering through to B2C consultation services, adding more flexibility to online sales for time stricken customers. This all adds to the democratisation of sales, perhaps it will introduce round the clock sales models, similar to that in development.
With todays technologies a mix between teleconferencing and virtual scanning or the addition of augmented elements may bring the full features of the onsite visit closer.
We are excited to see what the response will be from associations and global players. One thing is sure, if the event goes to plan as well as we intend, there is no reason why another event should not take place before the close of the year.
The most exciting aspect of the Ascrion solution is that it is perfect for any industry to host similar solutions. For more information about Ascrion, visit www.ascrion.com.
